The iPhone is dead for me

For several months I strutted around with an iPhone on my hip, yes it made me look cool but did it help me?

The pros:

1. it looks cool
2. The browser works like non other
3. Reading email is great
4. Integration with WI-FI is slick
5. Reading Blogs rocks

The Cons:

1. Calender integration with Exchange is awful
2. Integration with Corporate GAL is awful
3. no search in email
4. typing is awful
5. Battery life is not great

What I want is a Windows Mobile device with a browser as good as the iPhone, a decent keyboard and a touch screen... bring it on, please..... I am going back to my BlackJack II.

Nanny Val

My Nanny Val passed away recently, my parents are looking after her estate and came across her war-time identity card. She is identified as an "Air Raid Protection Controller" This was during the time of the V1 and V2 rocket attacks and night bombing of the blitz of London.
Her picture shows her aged 19 during 1944. It troubles me that with the passing of her generation the knowledge of how terrible the World Wars were passes with them. The distance between Iraq, Afghanistan and the US is so great that the news of the death of our troops seems to pass people by. Our generation does not know the horror of living in and through a war. I hope our children continue to be educated on the past wars and learn that they were not some trivial event in a history book.
Whilst Nanny Val may not be here any more, her memories live on, nothing can take those away.
