Status

I am currently simultaneously updating status at multiple social networking sites from one tool; Facebook, Twitter, Yammer and LinkedIn. Apparently this bugs the heck out of some people. But so does the plethora of sites bug me. We just introduced another place for status, our corporate employee directory... when will this end? How many places will copy the concept of micro-blogging? And what will the etiquette be for updating all these sites? It is interesting how new technology creates the need for new social norms of acceptable and appropriate behavior.
Oh and in case you wondered the tool is ping.fm I use Pingle on the iPhone when mobile.
